PacifiCorp closes Swift Dam access for rest of year

PacifiCorp reports the Swift Dam in Cougar is closed due to vandalism and construction near the site.

The power company reports the dam closed Saturday and will not reopen for the remainder of the year.

People have been caught tampering with nearby equipment, including those needed to collect fish, according to a company notice.

Instead, people can access the Swift Reservoir at Swift Forest Camp.

PacifiCorp's website states the dam is also closed due to nearby construction.
