Former WWE United States Champion Slams Triple H in Scathing Rant

A popular AEW wrestler and former WWE superstar had some choice words for Triple H (real name Paul Levesque) in a passionate rant on his podcast.

Like his father-in-law, former WWE chairman Vince McMahon, Triple H has had to make some difficult business decisions that have left him with his fair share of enemies. That comes with being WWE's head of creative and chief content officer.

It's not uncommon for wrestlers to publicly rip Triple H and company leadership when they leave the WWE, especially after they land a gig at a rival promotion like AEW or Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.

Former United States Champion Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP) minced no words with his feelings about Triple H during the latest episode of the Marking Out with MVP and Dwayne Swayze podcast (h/t WrestlingNews.co):

MVP led the Hurt Business faction, which featured Shelton Benjamin, Bobby Lashley and Cedric Alexander. Unhappy with WWE's decision to release Benjamin in Sept. 2023, MVP convinced Lashley to jump ship as well.

"So, having said that, they just released Shelton. So, me and Bobby were still under contract. At this point, I was with Omos and Bobby was doing his thing with the Pride. And I made up my mind, my contract was coming up, me and Bobby had contracts at similar times. And I made up my mind that I don't want to be here anymore."

"And if Triple H is in charge, then I definitely want to be here. Because I don't like Triple H. I don't respect Triple H. I think he's a coward and a liar. And there have been many situations where he was dealing with Bobby, where he didn't tell Bobby the truth creatively what he wanted to do...

So, after a few weeks, Bobby started to kind of see the environment for what it was, and he was like, ‘Yeah, your right. When our contracts run out, let's stop re-signing. Let's get with Shelton. And let's take this show up across the street.'"

Lashley, Benjamin, and MVP reunited on AEW programming in the fall of 2024, forming the new "Hurt Syndicate" stable.

MVP's Second WWE Stint Wasn't as Successful as the First

MVP cemented himself as one of the WWE's best mid-card and tag team wrestlers during his first tenure with the company (2005 to 2010). He won the United States Championship twice and briefly held the World Tag Team titles with Matt Hardy.

There was a lot of excitement when MVP returned to WWE in 2018. It wasn't until 2020, when the Hurt Business was formed, that he finally got proper use from the creative team.
