CMI Orchards unveils new Nature's Candy cherry packaging for 2026 season
As the Pacific Northwest cherry season approaches, Wenatchee-based CMI Orchards is giving one of its signature brands a fresh look.
The grower and marketer recently unveiled redesigned packaging and retail displays for its Nature's Candy cherries ahead of the 2026 season, aiming to help the fruit stand out on store shelves while highlighting the company's sustainability efforts.
The refreshed lineup includes updated pouch bags and clamshell packaging for Dark Sweet and Rainier cherries, featuring bolder colors, modern graphics and new branding elements tied to the company's Planet Positive carbon-negative fruit program.
CMI also redesigned its master cartons and retail display materials to create more cohesive in-store presentations intended to attract shoppers and increase seasonal sales.
According to Rochelle Bohm, vice president of marketing at CMI Orchards, the redesign blends the original Nature's Candy branding with a more contemporary look while giving retailers updated tools to promote Northwest cherries during the peak summer season.
The new packaging and display materials are expected to roll out alongside the first harvests of the 2026 cherry season.
The national cherry harvest is a roughly 10-week window from late May through early August, with Washington state producing 56% of the crop, according to agtech company innov8.ag.
