Southern Charm star Austen Kroll is opening up about the Summer House drama. In a recent conversation with Woman’s World to discuss his partnership with Bissell to promote their new CleanWell Automatic Litter Box and HydrateWell Automatic Water Fountain, the Bravo veteran discussed the situation, Andy Cohen’s reaction and how his friend Kyle Cooke is doing now. Read on for more.

Austen Kroll’s history with the ‘Summer House’ cast

Kroll, 38, has been on Bravo since 2017. During that time he’s made friends, he’s made enemies and he’s even dated some of the other Bravo-lebs. This includes Summer House star Ciara Miller, whom he met while filming the Southern Charm/Summer House crossover show Winter House in 2021.

“The first season of Winter House was the most fun two and a half weeks I can remember having in my entire life. I think we captured lightning in a bottle by adding me and Craig [Conover from Southern Charm] to the mix of Kyle, Ciara and Paige [DeSorbo from Summer House],” he tells Woman’s World. “I think the problem with it is that it only has like six episodes and so much fun stuff was cut.”

When talking about Andrea Denver, who went onto star in Summer House and In The City, he says, “At first, Craig and I were like, what are we gonna have in common with this hot Italian model? And it turns out that he was so much fun, and he loves American culture. We even had him pledge a pretend frat, and they just cut it all.”

Austen Kroll weighs in on the ‘Summer House’ drama

In January of this year Cooke announced that he and Amanda Batula were divorcing. That news came after years of fights and cheating rumors. Summer House fans were anxious to learn more about the breakup in Season 10, which aired from February to May.

But that news was quickly shaken aside last month, when Batula announced that she was dating her Summer House co-star West Wilson, Cooke’s best friend and Miller’s ex, in April 2026. And if all that weren’t enough, Batula was Miller’s best friend, making a messy situation even messier.

“We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity,” Wilson and Batula wrote in a joint statement. “It was never our intention to purposely hide anything. Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.”

That statement caused quite a shakeup within the reality TV world, and since Kroll is Miller’s ex and Cooke’s good friend, fans have been anxiously waiting for his response.

“I don’t know all the details. I know what everyone knows,” Kroll says before sharing what happened after the news broke. “Andy [Cohen] texted me and Shep [Rose from Southern Charm] and Craig, and he was like, ‘Aren’t you guys just glad that it’s not you?’ And I was like, ‘Yes, yes, I am.’”

Because of that lack of information, Kroll says that he’s “seated for the Summer House reunion,” which airs next week.

“It’s been tough to watch a show your friends are on, and to see them do things, and this and that, but yeah, I think I’m interested to watch the reunion,” he continues. “What I will tell you is that I was at the premiere for In the City [the new Summer House spinoff starring Cooke and Lindsay Hubbard] last night, and Kyle had a smile on his face all night, and so did Lindsay. I’m just happy for them in this new chapter.
