'The Boys' Series Finale: Who Died in the Last Episode?

After five seasons of foul-mouthed, blood-splattering fun, The Boys has ended its time on Prime Video. The series finale answered many questions about the fates of the main cast, delivering one of the more satisfying and unambiguous endings in recent memory.

Need a full breakdown of who lived and who died? We've got you right here!

Dead: Homelander

Homelander was the biggest villain on TV as long as I can remember. He deserved a death that made sense and finished a character arc that has been incredibly well-acted and written for five seasons. He got exactly that.

Homelander got his powers removed and begged for his life before Butcher beat him to death with a crowbar. It turns out, everyone was right about the cowardice and facade behind the cape.

Alive: Hughie

Hughie was the central protagonist of the final episode, and that's exactly the way it should be. He got his happy ending with Starlight/Annie, they're now expecting their first child together, and he'll get to live the Billy Joel-obsessed existence he's always wanted to. No more Homelander or Butcher to ruin his life. Speaking of . . .

Dead: Billy Butcher

Butcher was nearly as lifeless and pathetic as Homelander by the time of his death. Despite winning the battle over his rival, Butcher still plans to take out all of the supes with the virus at the end of the episode. Hughie can't let Butcher do any more harm and puts him out of his misery.

Alive: Kimiko

Kimiko used the power of love instead of hate to help defeat Homelander. She survives the final battle after disabling Homelander with some help from the love of her life, Frenchie.

Dead: Oh Father

Oh Father was one of Homelander's most dedicated servants in the last season of the show as he tried to convince the world of his boss's holiness. He uses himself as the last line of defense between the Boys and Homelander, and he dies after biting down a little too hard on an . . . ahem . . . very adult toy that was gifted to him by Ashley.

Alive: Ashley Barrett

Ashley completes one good deed to end her storyline, opening the door for Butcher and the gang to find Homelander in the Oval Office. She escapes the tower unharmed but is arrested following Homelander's death. What she was arrested for, well, it could be any of the various crimes she helped with. Pick one or 12.

Dead: The Deep

The Deep survived so long that it almost felt like he was going to scrape his way to the finish line. Instead, his stupidity leads him right to the ocean after a battle with Starlight. His former fish friends are now his enemies, and the ones who complete his demise.

Alive: Stan Edgar

Stan Edgar steals every scene he's in, and thank goodness he gets one final appearance as Vought's interim CEO after Homelander bites the dust. His one-minute monologue reminds the audience that capitalism was always the root of all superpowered evil in the world of The Boys.
