NFL Rookie Rueben Bain Jr. Unveils Custom Bane Facemask Inspired by 'The Dark Knight Rises'
A highly-touted NFL rookie may be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' new "reckoning," if you will.
With the No. 15 pick in last month's NFL draft, the Buccaneers selected Rueben Bain Jr., a standout edge rusher from Miami who won the Ted Hendricks Award in 2025.
Bain was one of three Hurricanes to go in round one, along with offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa (10th overall to the New York Giants) and linebacker Akheem Mesidor (22nd overall to the Los Angeles Chargers).
On Wednesday, the Buccaneers shared a video of someone presenting Bain Jr. with a brand new facemask. This customized piece was inspired by Tom Hardy's villainous character, Bane, from The Dark Knight Rises.

Bain is already intimidating enough for opposing teams with a 6-foot-2 and 263-pound frame. Good luck to opposing quarterbacks, running backs and offensive linemen who must stare at his Bane-inspired mask on the other side of the ball.
Hardy was cast as Bane for the final installment of the Christopher Nolan-Christian Bale Batman trilogy. The Black Hawk Down and Bronson star was the second actor to portray Bane in a live-action film. The first was the late Jeep Swenson, a professional wrestler who played the imposing beast in Batman & Robin.
Bucs Will Lean On Rueben Bain Jr. To Return to the Postseason
The Buccaneers qualified for the postseason in five straight years from 2020 to 2024, highlighted by a Super Bowl 55 triumph. They jumped out to a 6-2 start last season and looked poised to wrap up a fifth straight NFC South division crown.
But injuries to key players, including Mike Evans, Bucky Irving and Tristan Wirfs Jr., proved too much to overcome. The Bucs dropped seven of their final nine games to finish 8-9, and the Carolina Panthers won the division on a three-way tiebreaker.
Tampa's strength under head coach Todd Bowles has always been the front seven. If Bain can become an immediate impact player, their chances of returning to the postseason will improve immensely.
