There is one major flaw to Aldi's aisle of shame: When it's gone, it is typically gone for good. While rotating selection is certainly a delight that offers new covetable treasures, when you happen to miss a hot item it can be extremely frustrating. Luckily for us shoppers, one has returned!

Aldi's teacup planters have become one of those things. The previous floral designs were such a hit that they're now out of stock. Once the new Belavi Green Tea Cup Planter hits stores on May 27, we recommend getting in early.

The shape alone changes the look of whatever you put inside. Imagine a bunch of thyme spilling over the edge. A posy of lavender or an arrangement of succulents.

In this release, instead of the charming floral prints, the updated planters come in a soft minty green with delicate leaf detailing. They look like something you would find tucked away on a greenhouse shelf, beside old watering cans and chipped terracotta pots.

The teacup itself is fairly large at just over 12 inches wide, so it works for herbs, flowers, and succulents-and even for DIY fairy gardens.

Trailing plants soften the shape nicely as they start to grow over the edges. Mint, pansies, and the classic combo of hens and chicks would all work well here.

And because it includes a drainage hole and plug, you can actually plant directly into it instead of using it purely as decoration.

Refresh Your Outdoor Space Right Before Summer

The planters arrive in Aldi stores beginning May 27 and cost $9.99 each.

That timing usually lines up with when people start refreshing porch planters and repotting herbs. Make your outdoor space or windowsill feel a little greener before summer fully settles in with this budget-friendly find from Aldi.
