On May 20, 2026, What's on Netflix's Jacob Robinson reported that Netflix confirmed to the outlet that Agent Kim Reactivated will debut on June 27, 2026. The highly anticipated live-action series based on the webtoon Manager Kim will debut more than a year after excitement for the project began building online. The webtoon has been serialized since 2023, features artwork by Byung-gwan Kim, and is based on a novel of the same name by Hee-gu Song.
A June 2025 AllKPop report about So Ji Sub being in talks to join the show's cast showed that excitement about the series was already building at that time. What's on Netflix's recent report expanded on that early casting news by providing details about the show's five lead actors. The series stars So Ji Sub as Director Kim, Choi Dae Hoon as Seong Han Su, Yoon Kyung Ho as Park Jin Cheol, Joo Sang Wook as Ju Gang Chan, and Son Na Eun as Sang A.
The website also shared several additional details about the show, including that the 10-episode season will also be airing on SBS in South Korea. Unlike most Netflix series that drop all at once, Agent Kim Reactivated will release a new episode every Friday and Saturday following its premiere until the finale airs. What's on Netflix's report also included a series synopsis provided by Netflix.
"Single father, company manager, and former black-ops member, Agent Kim lived an ordinary life until his daughter, Min-ji, went missing. After discovering his daughter was kidnapped, Agent Kim turns merciless and sets out for information. He is hell-bent on rescuing his daughter by any means necessary, even if it means destroying everything and everyone standing in his path."
