Anyone with more than one cat knows that lap privileges can be very serious business. Sami has two cats, and the female's reaction to the determined male trying to sneak past her to cuddle up on Mom's lap proves exactly that.

Instead of risking a direct confrontation with the female cat lounging at Mom's feet, the male carefully tiptoed around her with the precision of a spy on a secret mission. She watches his every move, looking thoroughly annoyed, but surprisingly allows him to pass without incident. Judging by the expression on her face, though, it's safe to say this is not an everyday occurrence, and she's definitely not thrilled about sharing her Mom.

Sami calls the cats' antics her "daily entertainment" in the caption, and we can see why. We're guessing that it doesn't always go this smoothly, though!

Commenter @Carla agreed, and got more than 40,000 likes when she joked, "Her: By all means move at a glacial pace, you know how that thrills me..." @Jacqueline added, "She's like, do you not have anything better to do but annoy me?! LOL!"

Why Cats Compete So Hard for Their Humans' Attention

Commenter @Nat Geo Animals perfectly summed up the female cat's reaction by pointing out, "She was NOT having it." And they're absolutely right. Based on the way she's staring down the male cat, it's pretty clear who the dominant feline in the house is.

According to The Spruce Pets, dominant cats often display behaviors such as guarding favorite sleeping spots, pushing other cats away from food bowls, hoarding toys, marking their territory, and doing exactly what the female cat did in Sami's video: by intimidating other cats through staring or physical posturing.

If your cat seems jealous or overly territorial, The Spruce Pets recommends making sure each cat gets individual attention and regular one-on-one playtime so they don't feel forced to compete for affection. Rewarding calm, positive interactions between cats can also help reduce tension in multi-cat households.

Judging by this female cat's attitude, she clearly believes Mom's lap should remain a one-cat-only zone, and she's the only one qualified to hold that title.
