A Stray Cat Chose a Family - and Refused to Let Them Move Without Her
Meet Snuggles, a sweet Tabby cat who was sadly left behind when her previous family moved away, forcing her to survive as a stray. So when Breadcrumbs (@breadcrumbs659) and her family moved into the home, Snuggles quickly decided they belonged to her now.
The family fed her, cared for her, and gave her plenty of cuddles and affection. So when Snuggles realized they were packing up to move out, she made it very clear she had no intention of being left behind again. Her solution? The clever kitty climbed right into the car alongside the moving boxes and belongings, making sure there was absolutely no chance her new family could forget to take her with them...and they didn't.

Breadcrumbs shared in other posts that Snuggles has settled in quite nicely at the new house and even has a favorite tree she likes to climb and hang out in. She's officially a part of the family!

We laughed when @Lexwildtiger pointed out, "Not a stray. That's a stay."

Why Some Stray Cats Suddenly Adopt People
Commenter @Tribq summed the situation up perfectly: "Awww he adopted you!!!" And that's exactly what seems to happen with some stray cats, especially ones that were once pets before being left behind and forced to fend for themselves.
According to Best Life 4 Pets, stray cats will sometimes "adopt" a family they feel safe with, and it's actually a huge sign of trust. It means a scared, stressed, and homeless cat has decided your home and your family feel safe enough to become theirs.
Even if you're not able or willing to fully bring a stray cat indoors, there are still ways to help. Best Life 4 Pets recommends providing the basics: food, water, shelter, and a warm place to sleep. A simple box with blankets can help provide safety and comfort while the cat learns to trust people again.
And in Snuggles' case, it seems pretty clear she had already decided exactly where she belonged, and her new family seems okay with it, too.
