Move Over, Penguins: This Unique Tuxedo Cat Has Perfected the Art of Standing on Two Legs
If you're a cat mom like I am, you already know that cats can be a little weird... but that's one of the best things about them. Their little quirks and habits are why we love them so much, and the kitty in the video below isn't afraid to show hers off.
Is that a penguin you see in this footage? Nope, that's just Tilly the Tuxedo cat, standing on two legs like the other two are just for show.

hey hey hey - lauren
After all, there's a reason that Tilly is known as @tillytibbytoes on TikTok: She's always on her toes, and she's exceptionally good at having that level of balance.
In each clip in this video, Tilly is getting closer and closer to the camera, and she has the most serious look on her face in the process. She might be willing to offer a slow blink and the slightest of tail movements, but otherwise, she's just here to show off her skills.
Speaking of showing off her skills... her entire TikTok account is basically a testament to just how perfect her balance is. She definitely doesn't need all four paws; she's making it happen with two and it looks like it's taking zero effort.

Why Some Cats Stand on 2 Legs
I think most of us would probably be pretty hard pressed to find a cat who is quite as talented at standing on two legs as Tilly is, but she's definitely not the only one who has been known to exhibit this strange behavior.
As Rover points out, there are a few reasons that cats enjoy hanging out on their hind legs for a bit:
- They want a better view (especially if they're tracking down a toy or another member of the family)
- They need a nice, big stretch
- They're excited about something
- They're looking for attention
- They're trying to get to something that may be out of their reach otherwise
The good news? If you notice your cat standing on two legs, there's very likely no cause to be concerned, unless they also happen to be showing behavior that could indicate to you that something isn't right, like if they're eating or drinking less, appear to be hurt, or have become aggressive.
With the right training, more cats could be on Tilly's level, but for now, she might just be the reigning "standing on two legs" champ.
