Get whisked away to Pine Mountain! Though it’s known as the “Gateway to Callaway Gardens” due to its proximity to the 6,000-acre Callaway Gardens resort, this charming Georgia town has plenty to boast about in its own right. It’s home to quaint boutiques, delicious restaurants and a beautiful state park.

Find yourself surrounded by winged beauties

Start your day off at Cecil B. Day Butterfly Center, the site of 1,000 spectacular butterflies. Wander through one of North America’s largest glass-enclosed tropical conservatories for an incredible look at flowering plants and the winged beauties. After you’ve worked up an appetite, savor seafood at Eddie Mae’s Kountry Kitchen with dishes like pan-seared lemon pepper salmon, fried catfish and a shrimp po’boy.

Explore the local scenery

As dusk approaches, immerse yourself in nature at F.D. Roosevelt State Park. You’ll find more than 40 miles of trails, rushing waterfalls and spectacular mountain views.

Besides the beloved insects, it’s also home to lush tropical plants in the 7,300-square-foot environment. Thanks to 80°F temperatures and high humidity, you’ll feel like you’re wandering through a tropical rain forest.
