Couple Goes Viral After Including Home Depot Employee in Gender Reveal
Some gender reveals fade from people's memories within about five minutes of the confetti settling. This one somehow made strangers emotional in the middle of a Home Depot paint department.
And then it took over the internet.
The Reveal Was Surprisingly Emotional
TikTok creator @habibaabdelall0, Habiba Abdelall, and her husband, Stephen Palame, are going viral after sharing a paint-themed reveal that reflected a huge part of their lives together: construction and real estate. The Buffalo couple runs a real estate business together and owns several Airbnbs, so incorporating a paint-and-home-renovation theme into the moment felt perfect.

How They Made It Special
Instead of smoke cannons or elaborate party setups, they went to their local Home Depot and asked employees in the paint department to secretly prepare the reveal color for them. It turned out to be sweet and wholesome.
@habibaabdelall0 How we chose to find our baby's gender! Just us and something that we bond over (construction) so paint just made sense! Thank you so much ladiesss! They were so so sweet and a very important part of our reveal @The Home Depot #genderrevealideas#babygenderreveal#homedepot#genderrevealfail#paintgenderreveal

After receiving the test results, the couple decided they didn't want to hand the reveal off to family or friends. They wanted to experience the surprise together in real time. Back at home, they laid down a tarp, changed into white shirts, and dipped their hands into the paint with their eyes closed.
Then they looked down.

The couple immediately realized they were having a girl, and the emotional reaction hit so hard that millions of strangers online felt it, too. Viewers flooded the comments section.
- "We are sobbing in the paint aisle."
- "Including strangers in your gender reveal is the most endearing thing ever."
- "I just KNOW those Home Depot employees were so excited."
Abdelall later explained that posting the video felt like a way to preserve the moment somewhere she could always revisit. But what really made the clip spread was how unexpectedly human it felt.
The gender reveal was original, without explosions or major production: just some paint and a couple of kind employees who accidentally became part of a family memory the internet now feels emotionally attached to.
