This Peacock Is Desperately Trying to Flirt With a Chicken-and It's Hilarious
Male Peacocks are known for showing off their gorgeous feathers to attract attention, but this one named Johnny clearly picked the wrong audience. In a hilarious video shared by Alabama Cole, the determined bird proudly struts, dances, and shakes his tail feathers in an attempt to impress a nearby chicken who doesn't appear to even notice him.
While Johnny keeps inching closer and closer, trying to get her attention, the chicken simply continues moving farther away and focusing on finding a meal, without even bothering to look up at him. Check out the action, or lack thereof, here.
We laughed when Alabama joked that Johnny "can't get none" from the peahens. You've got to give the guy an A for effort and his confidence in his ability to attract any female around.
Commenter @Jennifer Merchant joked, "I have second-hand embarrassment for Johnny." Another commenter said, "Read the room, Johnny!" while @LaBlueDot cracked us up with, "The chicken: You are barking up the wrong tree, hun."

Why Peacocks Show Off Their Feathers
Viewers had some funny things to say about the peacock's attempts at wooing the chicken. @Deb wondered, "Would that be a chick-pea??? LOL!"
@rice cooker pointed out, "The way he flipped sideways like ‘Ta-da!!!'" Another commenter cracked us up with, "Are you not entertained?!? - The peacock, probably."
Male peacocks are actually famous for putting on dazzling courtship displays to attract females. According to A-Z Animals, the dramatic feather displays are part of an "eye-catching process that allows males to win over the attention of females."
But it's not just the flashy feathers doing the work. Peacocks are also extremely vocal and will scream to attract nearby females. Once they catch a peahen's attention, the males begin strutting, circling, and dancing to show off their availability and impress potential mates.
During breeding season, male peacocks may gather small harems of 3-5 females, but ultimately it's the ladies' choice, which explains why Johnny was working overtime trying to impress his completely unimpressed audience.
