'Reacher' Season 5 Renewed Ahead of Impending Season 4 Launch
Although Reacher Season 4 hasn't yet been released, Prime Video has already guaranteed that the adventure will continue in a fifth season. Because of the "continued success and global appeal of the action-packed drama," Prime Video confirmed the early Season 5 renewal on May 11, which was reported by several outlets, including Deadline. This Season 5 promise comes amid fan anticipation for Reacher Season 4, which has yet to confirm its release date, but is expected sometime this year.
So, with Reacher Season 5 confirmed, fans can almost certainly expect a 2027 release date for that season. But, with 30-plus Reacher books in existence, which novel will be the basis for the next season? And when will Neagley be released?
Reacher Season 4, Season 5, and Neagley release dates are (for now) unclear
Yes, Reacher Season 4 is coming sometime in 2026, but the exact release date has not been fully confirmed, at least not as of early May 2026. The spinoff series Neagley, starring fan-favorite Maria Sten, has seemingly finished filming, and Alan Ritchson's Reacher is set to make an appearance. But that series also doesn't have a release date yet.
And, naturally, because Reacher Season 5 was just announced, that release date is even murkier.
Which book will Reacher Season 5 be based upon?
Season 4 is based on the 2009 Lee Child Reacher book Gone Tomorrow. It's a good bet that Season 5 will be based on one of the many books, too, but which one? Back in 2025, Alan Ritchson told Men's Journal that he hoped that Die Trying could be adapted soon. That's a book about Reacher facing a militia. That said, Sten told Men's Journal she was hoping for Without Fail, a novel in which Reacher and Neagley have to team up to stop an assassination of the Vice President Elect.
Other popular fan favorite Reacher books include Tripwire, One Shot, and Worth Dying For, any of which could be the basis for Season 5.
