Netflix Quietly Adds 11 New Shows to June Schedule

Summer is the season to get outdoors, but it's also a good time to cozy up inside with some iced tea and a good Netflix movie. Lucky for the 200 million users who like to get their Netflix on, the streaming platform is unleashing a bevy of new, original shows in June 2026.

So, put reminders in your phone for when these shows hit Netflix, and gather some friends for a post-pool Netflix shindig. Also, these titles are the Netflix Originals debuting in June 2026, so that's on top of the regular programming making its way to the platform.

Netflix is Adding 11 Shows to Its Schedule in June

For June 2026, according to a report from What's on Netflix, the lineup includes: The Witness, The Murder of Rachel Nickell, Mexico 86, Office Romance, Sweet Magnolias (Season 5), I Am Frankelda, Voicemails for Isabelle, Avatar: The Last Airbender (Season 2), Little Brother, Chris & Martina: The Final Set and The Rest Is Football.

There's a clear rhythm to the month. Netflix is serving up contrast and variety: heavy true crime sits right next to breezy rom-coms, and animated fantasy brushes shoulders with sports nostalgia. It's a programming slate that feels less strategic and more like someone throwing darts at a board and then deciding, "Yeah, that works."

Not that there's anything wrong with that. It's refreshing to see so much variety coming in one month.

As for highlights, the true crime pairing of The Witness and The Murder of Rachel Nickell is the most intriguing part of the schedule. One dramatizes the aftermath of crime through the eyes of a grieving family, while the other goes straight into the machinery of the investigation. It's the same topic but different angles.

On the other end, Mexico 86 and Office Romance offer very different versions of escapism. One turns FIFA bureaucracy into a satirical caper with Diego Luna, and the other is about a workplace romance with Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein. Both are basically about people behaving badly but in an entertaining way.

The bigger names are in animation. I Am Frankelda looks like the kind of stop-motion fantasy that offers such beautiful visuals that you remember them more than the plot. Avatar: The Last Airbender (Season 2) offers the Earth Kingdom era, where expectations are already sky-high. For sports viewers, The Rest Is Football turns the World Cup into daily television, which should make for a unique watch.

It's a strange month in the best way. These shows go between heavy, light, nostalgic and wild, all set next to each other like someone refused to let the schedule get boring. It's one reason people keep coming back to Netflix Originals each and every month.
