T-Post Tavern to close May 10

T-Post Tavern's last day of service will be Sunday, May 10, said owner Dan Thiessen.

The country bar and restaurant opened in 2023 at the former location of Brik Bar and Grill, 1415 Plaza Way.

Thiessen said the restaurant's longtime general manager, Erin Needham, is working to secure her own lease with the landlord, which could mean the restaurant staying open under a different name but with the same concept.

Thiessen declined to provide any details about the closure of T-Post Tavern while the future of the establishment is still being decided.

He said he and his wife, Melissa, who is co-owner of the restaurant, did not make the decision lightly but are cheering on Needham in her efforts to acquire the space.

"For us it was a personal tie with the family history and the branding wall with local ranchers on there, that was probably our favorite element of it that we created a family friendly place," Thiessen said. "And I had a lot of kids in there with the mechanical bull and the old clucking rooster machine for the kids to put the quarter in and get their prize out - so those are probably my favorite memories about the place and always will be."
