16-Year-Old Rescue Dog Treats Eating Ice Cream Like a Demolition Sport
Both of my dogs love getting an ice cream treat. That special frozen dessert made specifically for canines brightens their day every time they see the little cup. Despite her excitement to indulge, my senior Dachshund minds her manners and takes very ladylike licks until she's finished. Her Pug brother has a different approach and sticks his entire face in the container so he doesn't miss a single morsel.
Gracie the 16-year-old rescue dog leaves etiquette at the door when she catches sight of the coveted ice cream cup and stops at nothing to scarf down every last drop.
@oldsoulsanimalres There's normal dogs eating ice cream…and then there's 16-year-old senior dog Gracie eating dog ice cream like her life depends on it (If you ask her, it does.) #seniordog#dogs#dogtok#funnydog @BARK ‘N BERRY

Gracie is one of many senior residents at Old Souls Animal Rescue. The four-legged fur babies were treated to ice cream cups, and the special day was captured on video. Several dogs took their time to savor each lick and be present in the delicious moment. Even when one dog used his teeth to get some extra-thick bites, he was careful to avoid any mess or spillage.
Then there was Gracie. The Pug mix stood on her hind legs as she devoured the ice cream with a vengeance. She was on a mission to conquer the cup and leave zero remnants behind. It was quite an impressive performance for such a little dog. Age had nothing on Gracie as she literally attacked the dairy dessert with pure vigor.
When she finally finished the frozen treat, she stood and took a breath, completely oblivious to the ice cream mustache and beard she acquired from her hard work.
Gracie Was Rescued From Euthanasia
The senior pooch was originally set to be euthanized due ot her age and health issues, but Old Souls stepped in to give Gracie a fresh start. She's been a beloved resident at the rescue for the past year and is proof that senior dogs have plenty of life left to live and lots of love to give.
