Abandoned Golden Retriever's Happy Hops After Rescue Are Pure Joy
You might see a breed like the Golden Retriever and think that nothing ever goes wrong for them. Everybody loves these sweet, loyal dogs! How could anyone ever be mean to them? It just doesn't seem possible.
However, Golden Retrievers are unfortunately mistreated all the time. Recently, after one Golden Retriever was abandoned by her previous family, she lost a lot of her sparkle. She was really struggling, but when the right family came along, you could literally see the moment she got all of her sparkle back:

Brandy the Golden Retriever is so sweet. I'm so glad she finally got the home she deserves. She might've had a rough start, but she'll get to live the rest of her life in peace, just like she should.

We don't know too much about Brandy's backstory other than that she was abandoned. When she was found, she literally had nothing, and everyone was really worried about her. Her new family drove 32 hours just to rescue her!
Once she got home, she fit right in, and it didn't take her long to find herself again. She loves to snuggle, play, take selfies, and be told how pretty she is. Her parents let her do whatever she wants, and she gives them kisses. It's exactly the kind of relationship a dog should have with her parents!

She's just a girl. Thank goodness they know that! She was rescued in California, where so many dogs are stuck in shelters waiting for their shot at a forever home. She was very lucky, and clearly, she's very grateful.
How to Find a Rescue Golden Retriever
Golden Retrievers are a very common dog to see in shelters. A lot of them get snatched up pretty quickly because the breed is highly sought after, but trust, there are always more.
If you're looking to rescue a Golden Retriever, there are a few places to check. You will find one, it just might take some time. You should look:
- In your local shelter.
- At specialty rescues in your area.
- For online rescues: a lot of them offer transport or, at least, partial transport to the right home.
Unfortunately, Golden Retrievers are a hugely exploited breed, which leads to a lot of surrenders and abandoned pups in the world. If at all possible, please always consider adopting one first!
