Try this: Ne Plus Jass Orchestra, hummingbird workshop, gnomes at Camas' First Friday

The 12-piece Ne Plus Ultra Jass Orchestra will transport audiences of all ages to the Roaring 20s at 7 p.m. Friday at the Providence Academy Ballroom, 400 E. Evergreen Blvd., Vancouver. Doors open at 6 p.m. followed by a free dance lesson at 6:30 p.m. led by Julianne and Joseph Platt of Ballroom Dance With Us. Guests can also buy champagne, soda, beer, wine and light refreshments. Guests can dance or just listen to authentic nightclub music of the '20s and '30s. Parking is free and the ballroom is ADA accessible. Sculptures and sounds

The Vancouver Arts Hub, 1007 E. Mill Plain Blvd., will host a reception for its Celebration of Sculpture exhibit from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Guests can stroll through the 12,000-square-foot exhibit space and enjoy live music and dancing. Come back to the Arts Hub from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday for a Candlelight Concert with acclaimed Native American flutist Sherrie Davis followed by a sound bath with Gary Merrill. Tickling the ivories

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra Chamber Music Series welcomes award-winning pianist Orli Shaham for the final performance of its 2025-26 season at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, 4300 Main St., Vancouver. The program opens with Bach's "Double Piano Concerto." The first half of the performance also showcases Sergei Prokofiev's "Symphony No. 1," aka the Classical Symphony. Wild Birds Unlimited, 800 N.E. Tenney Road, Suite 102, Vancouver, will host "Hummingbirds: Nature's Miracle," a free, in-store presentation from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday. These tiny birds weigh less than a nickel and can fly 600 miles without stopping. Downtown Camas will host Gnomes, Fairies and Backyard Adventures, a First Friday event from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Get photos with Mr. and Mrs. Gnome, toast s'mores at Fourth Avenue and Birch Street, play mini golf, go on a mushroom hunt, make fairy crafts, play games and win prizes.
