Major 'Final Fantasy 14' Update Releases Tomorrow: Everything You Need to Know About Patch 7.5

We are mere hours away from the servers of Final Fantasy 14 coming down for maintenance in order to implement one of the most anticipated updates of the year--Patch 7.5, the final major update to Dawntrail expansion. This Patch contains part of the final story arc for Dawntrail, new battle content, and more.

From the game's official Patch 7.5 notes, the new story content will be called Trail to the Heavens, and it will consist of five new main story quests. The rest of the story will be released in future, smaller updates, before the January 2027 release of the recently announced Evercold expansion.

The new story content quest will begin in Solution Nine by talking to Krile.

For battle content, a new dungeon, called the Clyteum, will be added, and it will require an item level of 750 or above to play. A new trial will also be added called The Unmaking, and the Extreme variant of the new trial will also be available. Both the dungeon and trial will be unlocked as a part of the new story content.

A new Unreal trial, Shinryu's Domain, will also be available for play.

The final part to the Alliance Raid series, called Windurst: The Third Walk, will be added and will require an item level of 755 to enter. The Chaotic Alliance Raid will also now allow unrestricted parties to come together to complete it.

The new PvP series will begin, too, and will feature a variety of rewards.

New hairstyles will be added for Viera and Hrothgar players. Additionally, many new pieces of headgear will be become wearable for Viera and Hrothgar.

There are also new updates to the Gold Saucer, graphical updates, new housing items, new Chronicles of a New Era quests, and a lot more.

The servers will go down for maintenance at 11:00 p.m. ET/8:00 p.m. PT tonight, April 27, and are estimated to be back online around 6:00 a.m. ET/3:00 a.m. PT on April 28.
