'Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred' Launch and New Season Start Time Details: Everything You Need to Know

We are mere hours away from jumping back into hell to take down Mephisto in the new Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred expansion. While the game's release date is technically April 28, a lot of players will be able to download and begin playing the long-awaited expansion tonight. Here is everything you need to know about when the game launches, as well as the start time for the new season.

When Does 'Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred' Launch?

Announced on the official Diablo 4 website, the Lord of Hatred expansion will be playable at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT tonight, April 27. Players may go ahead and preload the game, so they can jump in immediately as soon as the servers go live.

The price of the expansion is $39.99 for players who already own Diablo 4. There are also two additional versions for purchase: a Deluxe Edition and an Ultimate Edition. The Deluxe Edition has some exclusive cosmetics and access to the premium battle pass and costs $59.99. The Ultimate Edition includes the Deluxe Edition content, plus more armor sets, mounts, and 3000 premium currency to be used in the in-game shop for additional cosmetics or items.

All Lord of Hatred expansion purchases also include the previous expansion, Vessel of Hatred, for fans who have not played it.

When Does the New 'Diablo 4' Season Begin?

In addition to the new expansion launch, a new season will begin tonight, too. The next season, called the Season of Reckoning, will begin at 7:30 E.T./4:30 P.T, roughly 30 minutes after the expansion goes live. For those not wanting to play a seasonal character, they may create an eternal character to play right at the expansion launch time.

Developers will likely be monitoring server activity throughout the night and into the next few days to make sure everything runs smoothly for both the Lord of Hatred launch and the beginning of the new season.
