WWE Releases 24 Wrestlers: 10 More That Could Be Next Including The Miz
Less than a week after holding its flagship event in Las Vegas, the WWE began releasing wrestlers – including a number of household names.
The wrestling federation typically does a yearly purge [last year's was done in February] as the WWE turns the page to a new season following WrestleMania. As such the company decided to part ways with stars such as Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, Kairi Sane, and Bo Dallas (Uncle Howdy).

Who Could be Next?
With the latest exodus of WWE stars seemingly complete, Jason Burgos of Sportsnaut named 10 more that could be released later this year, including key names like Austin Theory and the oft-injured Bronson Reed.
Here are the 10 he suggested could depart later this year:
- Austin Theory
- Wendy Choo
- Fraxiom
- Shinsuke Nakamura
- Creed Bros.
- Bronson Reed
- Ivy Nile
- The Miz
- JC Mateo
The biggest name in the list, though, has to be Michael Mizanin aka The Miz.
"The Miz continues to prove why he is valuable and willing to do whatever the company needs. However, change is inevitable, and after 20 years in WWE, it puts him right in the crosshairs of roster cuts," Burgos writes.
"Making his situation even more tenuous is that Ethan Page was called up to RAW this week. The NXT star, in many ways, is a younger and probably much more cost-effective version of The Miz."
Burgos later admitted that the Miz could stick around this year, but his future remains up in the air.
