This Boy Started Handing Out Chicken Treats, Then Chaos Took Over
Emma Tompkins recently broke her ankle and has been relying on her kids, Jensen and Oakley, to help with farm chores while she recovers. They've been happy to pitch in, though things don't always go exactly according to plan.
In the clip, things quickly spiral as the kids try to hand out treats and keep up with the chickens. What started as a sweet moment quickly took a turn when Jensen found himself completely surrounded by the flock, all of them eagerly waiting for their snacks. The tears started immediately, and then the chickens started chasing him when he tried to make his escape, turning a simple treat session into absolute chaos.
@emmatompkins31 EDITChicken tending is not for the weak of heart good thing big sis was there to help out More context, since some of ya'll are a lil triggered. 1 Jensen and Oakley ASKED to give the chickens snacks(as they often do). They were NOT forced to do my chores. 2 Oakley did not get punished for her reaction to her brother. As a matter of fact I was very impressed with how she handled it. If you notice, I was laughing throughout the experience not growling 3 Me asking my daughter to have patience with her brother is not me being a demanding or mean parent, it's trying to teach her compassion. It seems as though a lot you could learn some patience as well 4 Jensen is FINE and was never in real danger. If he were I would obviously have put the phone down to help 5 I currently have a broken ankle that I cannot put weight on, I was on our upper deck and unable to get down to them quickly to help, hence me asking his older, very capable, sister to help. 6 a lot of yall need to get some fresh air, touch some grass and learn to laugh once in a while

Emma was spot on when she joked, "Chicken tending is not for the weak of heart. LOL! Good thing big sis was there to help out!"
We thought sis did a great job helping and then comforting her little brother.

Viewers Weren't Amused, But Emma Pushed Back on the Criticism
This clip had everything needed for it to go viral: the mix of sibling dynamics, animals, and a little bit of chaos is exactly the kind of moment that tends to spark strong reactions online. Viewers left more than 1,000 comments, and while many found the scene amusing, others weren't as entertained. One commenter wrote, "She was VERY patient with him! No need to correct her, she didn't do anything wrong. You go and hug him!" Another added, "Big sister is stressed."
But Emma wasn't having the criticism. She responded to several comments before adding more context in the caption, noting that some viewers seemed "a lil' triggered." She explained that she currently has a broken ankle and can't put weight on it, which made it difficult for her to step in quickly, hence asking her daughter to help. She also reassured viewers that Jensen was fine and never in any real danger.
Emma went on to clarify that both Jensen and Oakley had asked to give the chickens treats, something they do often, and that her children weren't being forced into chores. She also confirmed that Oakley wasn't punished for her reaction and said she was actually impressed with how her daughter handled the situation.
She added, "Me asking my daughter to have patience with her brother is not me being a demanding or mean parent, it's trying to teach her compassion," before pushing back more directly at critics.
It was her final comment that made supporters want to get up and cheer: "A lot of y'all need to get some fresh air, touch some grass, and learn to laugh once in a while."
