Harry Styles and Ticketmaster Just Freed Up Thousands of NYC Seats - Here's How Fans Can Claim Them at Face Value

Ticketmaster has cancelled thousands of Harry Styles Together, Together tour tickets for its U.S. leg, citing ticket scalping that has robbed countless fans of the chance to see their favorite pop star live in concert.

However, there's some great news here for non-bots of the world. If you missed out on tickets for Harry's New York City shows last time around, you will soon have a chance to buy them as part of a sale later this month - and even better, it's at face value! None of Ticketmaster's dynamic pricing schemes will apply here.

In a letter to Styles' fans, Ticketmaster CEO, Saumil Mehta, wrote a statement announcing the new sale.

"For those of you who don't know me - I'm Saumil, Global President of Ticketmaster. I joined the company earlier this year, and I'm focused on sharing more about how ticketing actually works and improving the experience for fans," the statement began. "So, I want to walk you through what happened here, and how we're working with Harry and his team to help real fans."

"We caught scalpers using multiple accounts and fake identities to try to get around ticket limits and resell tickets for profit," Mehta continued. "We've canceled those tickets, none of which had been transferred to fans, and we are working with the tour to release them back to fans at the original price. You may have seen us take similar action on other tours recently. It's all part of our broader effort to identify and catch more bad actors, enforce the rules of the sale and permanently ban accounts that violate them. It's important for these tickets to get to real fans."

"Scalpers often target the tickets that are the lowest price and/or super in-demand so they can flip them for the biggest markup," the statement added. Harry's 30-date residency at New York's Madison Square Garden, starting this August and ending in October, was a "huge target" for scammers, according to the company.

How to Get Harry Styles 'Together, Together' Tickets Confiscated from Scalpers

Ticketmaster and Harry Styles will team up for a request system, where fans can request the opportunity to buy tickets. When fans go to request tickets, you'll see the original prices set by the tour. 19% of the tickets available will be under $50, 77% under $95, and 100% under $130, according to the CEO.

If you're worried that your tickets will be cancelled, Ticketmaster promises that "no fan accounts were included in these cancellations and none of these tickets were sent to fans, adding that "anyone who bought directly on Ticketmaster is not affected."

The window for applying for Together, Together tickets, via the request system, will run from Thursday, April 30, at 12 pm ET, to Friday, May 1, at 5 pm ET. When you request during this window does not affect your likelihood of attaining tickets.

To request tickets, go to the Harry Styles page on Ticketmaster during this window. The links to request will be at the top of that page when the window is open.

According to Ticketmaster, applications could be matched with up to 4 tickets for 2 different shows, for a total of 8 tickets. To maximise your chances of success, users can request up to 4 tickets for 5 different shows at price levels for each show, the company states.

"The request page will reflect only the returned tickets, so not all events or price levels may be available," the statement added. "If your request is fulfilled, you will only be matched for 1 price level per show."

When you submit your request, you will be asked to submit your credit or debit card payment details, which will extract money if you are successful, so make sure you have enough money on this card to pay for tickets. You may see a $1 temporary hold to confirm your card is valid, but Ticketmaster promises this will be refunded.
