Did you know that your pets can have hobbies? Sure, they aren't going windsurfing or taking up piano anytime soon, but animals do have little quirks and passions. Sometimes they're pretty darn cute too! Just take a look at a Highland cow named Waffles, who showed off his favorite little hobby in an adorable video online.

Do you think Waffles is a big fan of "Come Clean," by Hillary Duff? The Highland cow loves to catch rain on his tongue. So his humans decided to give him a similar experience on a sunny day recently.

This is the closest thing I've ever seen to a cow smiling. The Highland looked positively joyful when his mom and dad pulled out the hose. It only meant one thing! He was going to catch some "rain" on his tongue that day. Boy was he excited!

"Most people don't realize that Waffles' favorite hobby is catching rain," his human said in the video. "When it doesn't rain, we use the hose."

But that doesn't mean everyone loves catching rain like Waffles does.

"What's even funnier is that Waffles' favorite hobby is Dumpling's most hated activity," she added, speaking of their other Highland cow.

Guess that means more rain for Waffles, huh?

Commenters loved every minute of the clip. Between Waffles' adorable reaction to the hose and Dumplings' distaste, they were cracking up.

"These cows are full of personality," wrote one person.

"Strictly a Waffles thing," another commenter teased.

"Waffles said happy tongue," chimed in a third person.

While another commenter put Dumplings' reaction best: "Hate[s] being rained on, but walking in the pond lol," they pointed out.

Highland Cow Temperaments

This video really proves that not all Highland cows are alike. These two have very different personalities. But in general, Highlands are calm, smart, and very even-keeled. They rarely give their humans stress and are fairly curious - they won't shy away when a stranger comes over to say hi.

Highlands are smart too! They are quick to pick up patterns and get into routines very easily. They're sort of like dogs in that way. There's a reason why they call cows, "grass puppies!"
