Mom Spots What Son Is Making With 3D Printer, Can't Cope With Result

A mom checking in on her son's latest 3D‑printing project got far more than she bargained for.

In a clip on TikTok, @rojacks walks over to her son's 3D printer and tells viewers: "On today's episode of ‘What is my son printing?'" before revealing the answer: "It's a cowboy hat… for the cat to wear."

Newsweek reached out to @rojacks for comment via direct message on TikTok.

She later shared a photo of the finished product-a tiny white cowboy hat perched neatly on the family cat's head-alongside the caption: "Meowdy, partner."

The mom's clip has gone viral on TikTok, clocking up more than three million views. In the comments, users couldn't get enough of the absurdity of the project and the cat's stoic appearance while modeling the miniature headwear.

"Everyone is saying he's mad because of the hat," one person wrote, "but they don't realize he's mad because he's already told her that that town ain't big enough for the both of them."

Others couldn't help but admire the dedication behind the print. "Totally worth the $1,000 elec bill!" another commenter joked.

But the mom noted that her family hasn't owned the 3D printer long enough to see its impact yet, adding that living in Florida already means dealing with a notoriously high electricity bill because of the heat.

"Can't wait to find out next month," she laughed in the comments.

Some viewers focused on the cat's unbothered tolerance of the hat. "The cat looks super pumped about this," one wrote, while another commented, "here's my cat and his gladiator hat," sparking a chain of pet costume photos in the comments.

Soon, the post turned into a showcase of what other families have used their 3D printers for-particularly when pets and kids are involved. "We made a Batman mask for ours," one user shared. Another added, "My son gave my boys muscley arms."

Another user shared a photo of their cat in a cowboy hat. “This town ain't big enough for the both of us, purrdner,” they wrote.

"A lot of people are using 3D printers for silly and frivolous things. Glad to see he's taking it more seriously and making things the world actually needs," one user wrote sarcastically.

As viewers admired the quality of the print, one asked whether the machine used was a Bamboo A1-a model they'd been considering-with the cat's cowboy hat sealing the decision. The mom confirmed that it was.
