Why Do Dogs Play With Plush Toys?

Doug loves his stuffed toy, and it's so cute to watch how much he loves carrying it around. According to the experts, a dog carrying around a plush toy is pretty common, and there are a few reasons why dogs love these toys in particular.

According to Petmate, dogs are fascinated by plush toys and love to carry them around for instinctual, comfort, and practical reasons. For example, these toys can be a real tool when a puppy is teething, they can help a female dog mimic nursing behavior, and they can support instinctual behavior for dogs who have a strong prey drive, as the look or feel of the toy can be similar to one of their natural prey. Also, these toys can be just a fun way for them to play and offer mental stimulation.

Plus, it's incredibly cute to see a pup like Doug so attached to such a silly plush like this one.
