German Shepherd Fosters Fluffy Kittens Like Best Stepmom Ever
Some dogs are natural-born nurturers. Breed can have a lot to do with it, but it's also the way they've grown up. Pups in loving, supportive environments are almost always the ones who'll welcome any newbies with open paws.
When German Shepherd Kaia first laid her eyes on her cat sibling's new brood, she wasted no time volunteering to help out in any way possible. Whether it's gathering everyone for a nap, being the fun aunt they can climb on as they learn to walk, or telling the humans (or cat mom Athena) of the house that it's time to check on the babies, this is one pup deserving of a celebratory Mother's Day this year.

Athena is a wonderful mama cat, but even hardworking mothers need a break every now and then. Thanks to Kaia's devotion and love as Mom's right-hand caregiver, the kitty crew is so very loved. From the day she met them, she's been mesmerized, with Mom noting that it's "the highlight of her day."
The kittens were born in late February and are now looking for homes, in case anyone out in Houston is looking to add a new member to the family. Potty-trained, smart, and dog-friendly (obviously!), you couldn't ask for a better feline companion, all raised by an affectionate cat and one amazing German Shepherd!

There are several heartwarming videos that show the loyal pup leading her human to see the kittens, and they're all special. You can tell she was born to be a parent in some capacity, even if it's a foster, step, or bonus mom. Being surrounded by a swarm of kittens is the new doggy norm, so I guess you could call Kaia a pioneer!
