Can This Golden Retriever Be Gentle With an Egg? Let's Find Out

Over the past few years, dog parents have tried the "Will my dog be gentle with an egg?" challenge with some pretty funny results. Pearl the Golden Retriever and her mom decided to give it a shot, and the results were quite surprising, to say the least.

In their recent TikTok video, @pearlgoldengirl patiently waits for the "treat" Mom has for her. After she places the egg on the floor right in front of the dog, Pearl quickly scoops it up in her mouth and heads off to another area of the house. Mom writes that the Golden Retriever "took it for a lap" as she follows her through the kitchen.

Pearl then brings the egg back into the living room, and we are all waiting with bated breath to see if it's intact after its trip around the room. And lo and behold, it is! Not even a crack, as Mom says in the caption.

Wait for it... Psych! Just when we all thought Pearl had succeeded in her "Gentle Egg Challenge," her mom tattled on her and revealed the real story to viewers.

Unfortunately for the egg... Pearl was only briefly gentle with it and eventually dropped it on the floor, where it broke open. At least the Golden Retriever got a tasty snack. Well, I guess you would only find it tasty if you like raw eggs!

Honestly, this must be a tough challenge for many pups. I'm sure one of my dogs could keep the integrity of the egg's shell, but my other dog, a Goldendoodle, wouldn't even get out of the room before smashing it to pieces!
