First 'Street Fighter' Trailer Sees Jason Momoa, Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns in Action

The first full trailer for the new Street Fighter film has been released-and this looks absolutely insane.

Jam-packed full of fighters, bright colors, and kinetic energy, the upcoming Paramount Pictures and Legendary Pictures movie brings everyone's favorite characters from games of the same name the to the big screen.

The movie also features some heavy hitters from WWE, music, and Hollywood, with a cast that includes Jason Momoa, 50 Cent, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, Orville Peck, and Andrew Schulz, all in wild, game-accurate costumes.

The film is slated for an October 16 release.

New Street Fighter Trailer Reveals Plot

While a previous teaser released during the Video Game Awards back in December 2025 gave viewers a taste of the movie's overall vibe, the new trailer reveals more of the plot.

Set in 1993, the film finds former friends Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) thrown back into combat after Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the latest World Warrior Tournament. The tournament is made up of the "world's best fighters," most of whom gamers will know from the source material.

"But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past," warns the official synopsis. "And if they don't, it's GAME OVER!"

A press release promises the movie, directed by Kitao Sakurai, will "bring the battle from the arcade to the big screen with Hadoukens, roundhouses, and all your favorite characters."

The footage itself shows Ken fighting quite a bit, including face-offs between him and Ryu, Dhalsim, and Balrog. We also see Vega get annihilated by both Guile and Chun-Li, while Chun-Li also goes toe-to-toe with Juli.

The video ends with Ryu doing his trademark "Hadouken!" cry and sonic blast.

Who Else Is In the Film?

While the trailer really focuses on Ryu, Ken and Chun-Li, it's also packed with glimpses of some of the other Street Fighter faves.

Jason Momoa is unrecognizable as a big green Blanka, red mane and all, while David Dastmalchian stars as the villain of the film, M. Bison.

WWE stars Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes are also seen as Akuma and Guile, respectively, with Rhodes' totally insane wig stealing the spotlight.

Also onboard are 50 Cent as Balrog, Orville Peck as Vega, Vidyut Jammwal as the incredibly-stretchy Dhalsim, Rayna Vallandingham as Juli, Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, Eric André as Don Sauvage, Olivier Richters as the massive Zangief, Hirooki Goto as E. Honda, and Alexander Volkanovski as Joe.

Cody Rhodes Is Committed to Guile

The trailer was released on Thursday as Paramount Pictures takes the stage at CinemaCon, a convention in Las Vegas where studios promote their upcoming releases for movie theater operators and press.

During an event for Street Fighter last night, Rhodes actually showed up in full costume, rocking Guile's leather jacket, camouflage pants, and, yes, that totally ridiculous hairpiece.

He even stayed in character as he spoke with fans-check out more footage below!
