"I Stopped Scrolling Past Small Items on Facebook Marketplace-Here Are the Best Things I Found"
It's no secret that I love browsing through Facebook Marketplace-I refresh the platform multiple times a day! Though my apartment is pretty much "done" decorating-wise, that doesn't stop me from wanting to see what other treasures might be for sale, especially when there are so many amazing deals to be found.
However, because I don't really need anything home-wise at the moment, I've started to turn my Facebook Marketplace focus into sourcing smaller items, such as decor, candlesticks, entertaining pieces, books and the like. These pieces are all still essential components of any home but can be easy to overlook when you're focused on securing the basics. And trust me when I say that if you keep your eyes peeled for small accessories, you'll begin to spot some total gems. Below, I'm sharing six recent finds that I'm so glad I scooped up via FBMP.
1. A Chic Bust Sculpture
I've long been a fan of bust sculptures and had been wanting a torso-shaped one for quite some time. However, many of these kinds of pieces can cost a pretty penny, especially when they're sizable. When I searched "bust sculpture" on FBMP a few months back, I was pleasantly surprised to come across this stylish option, which now sits on my mantel and makes a stunning statement, if I do say so myself! I appreciate that it's different from anything I've seen at a big box store.
2. A Silver Shell Serving Dish
I love hosting, so I'm always looking for fun ways to display snacks and appetizers when friends stop by. I've started to accumulate a collection of vintage silver serving pieces over the past few years, and when I spotted this shell tray while browsing Facebook Marketplace, I knew that I had to add it to the mix. It makes it easy to set out various types of snacks in an artful and elevated way.
3. A Cute Clock
Gone are the days when we relied on old-school clocks, but this marble one stopped me in my tracks during a Facebook Marketplace scroll, and I knew it would look great displayed inside my secretary desk. The colors fit into my blue/green bedroom wonderfully.
4. A Stylish Sheep
Say hello to Lottie the sheep! I've admired the famous (and expensive!) Lalanne sheep sculptures for quite some time, although even if one of these was in the budget, it wouldn't be all too practical in my tiny apartment. When I found this mini lookalike on FBMP, I was immediately sold. This adorable sheep is the perfect quirky addition to my living room and is always a conversation starter, especially among those who aren't familiar with Lalanne's aesthetic.
5. A Luxe Candle
It may seem funny to purchase something as small as a candle on Facebook Marketplace, but if you're like me and appreciate designer candles, you'll understand that a discounted scent is a no-brainer. When I noticed that someone in my neighborhood was parting ways with a Diptyque candle in a beautiful, oversized vessel, I messaged her right away!
6. A Special Set of Artwork
Facebook Marketplace is an excellent resource for more sizable art pieces, but don't forget to be on the lookout for small pieces of art, too. These Fornasetti prints (I snagged four in total) were located a ways away but were so worth the hour-plus journey. They're small enough that they can hang on a wall or lean nicely on a shelf.
