Stunning Samoyed Attends NY Mets Game, and He's a Jumbotron Star
Lumi, a giant, gorgeous Samoyed, recently took part in a special outing to Citi Field called "Bark in the Park," where NY Mets fans, both canine and human, gathered to enjoy a game on a glorious Spring day. There was a special section of the stadium set aside for the dogs of honor, and Lumi, along with a few other privileged pups, donned team jerseys and ate hot dogs while seated like very good boys and girls.
The game, however, wasn't the only attraction that day; the stunning Samoyed was repeatedly recognized by adoring TikTok fans and even featured smiling on the Jumbotron.

As one viewer aptly put it, "Lumi is living his best life," and we are all just lucky to tag along.
Is it weird that all I could think about as Lumi rode the subway and traversed the outer boroughs of Manhattan was how his pure-as-the-driven-snow coat was staying so clean?!

I also couldn't help but be extremely impressed by how well-behaved Lumi and the other dogs at the game were. They sat calmly with their parents, taking in the activity (and the concessions) like real fans – one father-pup pair was even caught by Lumi's mom taking adorable selfies. I would never think to bring my pooch to a baseball game, but then again, we can't all be as fancy as Lumi.
The Sweet Sammie
The Samoyed is one of those breeds that looks like a walking cloud-but there's a lot more going on under all that fluff. Originally bred in Siberia as a working dog, they were used for herding, sledding, and even keeping humans warm at night, which explains both their incredible cold tolerance and their deep attachment to people.
They're known for their signature "Sammie smile," friendly personality, and overall easygoing nature. These are dogs that genuinely like everyone-kids, strangers, other pets-which makes them fantastic family companions. But they're not low-effort. Samoyeds are high-energy and need a solid amount of daily exercise-think long walks, runs, or active play. Without it, they can get bored and, like many smart working breeds, start creating their own (usually destructive) entertainment.
Grooming is another major consideration. That thick double coat is beautiful, but it sheds-a lot. Regular brushing is non-negotiable, especially during seasonal shedding. If you're not okay with fur on everything you own, this may not be your breed.
They're also vocal and can be a little stubborn, so early training and consistency matter. The upside is they're intelligent and eager to please, especially when training feels engaging.
Samoyeds are loving, social, and incredibly loyal-but they thrive best in active households where they are given plenty of exercise, attention, grooming... and the VIP (Very Important Pup) treatment.
