Diana Columbo Grando and Carl Grando of West Richland, will celebrate their 55th year anniversary on June 30 with a family dinner.

They were married on June 24, 1962 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Nanuet, N.Y. They have lived in the Mid-Columbia for 43 years.

Diana started working at Dexter Press, in West Nyack, N.Y., as a bookkeeper in 1961. They were the largest maker of postcards at the time. After raising her children she went to work at Westinghouse Hanford as an executive secretary in 1992. She retired in 2004 from Fluor Hanford.

Carl started his career as a fuel fabrication engineer at United Nuclear in Pawling, N.Y. His next job was with Yankee Atomic Electric based in Massachusetts. He moved the family to Washington in 1974 to start his job at Exxon Nuclear. He has worked for Sandvik Special Metals, Westinghouse Hanford and retired from Fluor Hanford. He now consults on nuclear clean-up projects.

They are members of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation; Prairie Shufflers square and round dance club in Kennewick and PLUS Circulars square dancing and the Tri-City Corvette Club. Diana is also member of the Buckskin Golf Club, a ladies golf league, in West Richland.

They have two children, Yvette (Steve) Grando Holman of Bend, Ore. and Cliff (Jodi) Grando of West Richland.
