Nancy and Kurt Johnson
Nancy and Kurt Johnson of Richland celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 9 with a vow renewal, and their children, on a charter boat off San Juan Island.
They were married July 9, 1966, in the Washington Court House in Ohio. They moved to the Mid-Columbia 39 years ago.
Nancy was a teacher for the Richland School District until retiring in November 2002. She likes to participate in arthritis walks.
Kurt worked for Exxon Nuclear, Framatome, Areva and Siemens. He retired from Siemens in January 2000. He volunteers for American Red Cross and enjoys Ham radio.
They are members of Central United Protestant Church and active in the Kiwanis Club of Richland.
They have three children, Wendy Francis of Richland, Ed Johnson of Battle Ground and Kurt Johnson of Olympia.
They have seven grandchildren.
