Gayle and Gerald Foster

Gayle and Gerald Foster will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 12 with family and friends.

They were married July 24, 1966, at the First Christian Church in Sunnyside. They moved to the Mid-Columbia in 1967 from Honolulu.

Gayle worked in customer service for the State of Washington Department of Labor and Industries, retiring in June 2006. She serves as deacon in their church, enjoys playing bridge with several clubs and quilting.

Gerald worked in commercial nuclear energy. He retired from HSB Global Standards in May 2006. He continued working as a consultant for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers until 2015. Jerry likes to fish, hunt and do woodworking in his shop.

They are members of the First Presbyterian Church and are involved in many church activities. They enjoy spending time in their motorhome and vacationing with family.

They have two children, Ann (Joe) Dupuis of Tualatin, Ore., and John “Tom” (Shannon) of Finley.

They have seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
