Janell and Robert Cauble of Kennewick celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary May 28 with a party at the Clover Island Inn in Kennewick.
They were married May 25, 1946, in Reno, Nev. They moved from Richmond, Calif., to the Mid-Columbia in 1948.
Janell was a newsletter editor for the World War II Merchant Marine and Navy Armed Guard, Mid-Columbia chapter. She also prepared tax returns. She retired in 1990.
Robert served as a WWII Merchant Marine and a pipefitter for Union Local 598. He retired in 1990 from Kaiser Engineers.
They are members of the Kennewick Nazarene Church, Young Warriors, VFW, American Legion, American Merchant Marine Veterans (WWII).
They have three children, Ronald (Linda) Cauble of Kennewick; Robert (Cindy) Cauble of Hartline; and Debra (Nelson) Thomas of Kennewick.
They have eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
