Charlotte and Marshall Jones
Charlotte and Marshall Jones of Richland will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on June 21.
They met in the 1950s when Marshall, who lived in South Dakota, was stationed at Camp Hanford when he joined the Army in 1949. Charlotte moved here from Kansas and began working at the Hanford badge house. They were introduced by mutual friends and married on June 21, 1956.
Charlotte worked as a licensed practical nurse at Kadlec Medical Hospital until retiring at 65, and continued doing home health care for the elderly for several more years.
Marshall began working at Hanford in 1952 and retired as a senior research technician in the materials department of metallurgy.
Marshall and Charlotte were a very active couple. Charlotte did aerobic exercise with her youngest daughter for more than 20 years, went dancing with Marshall at the senior center in Kennewick and took care of her two grandchildren.
Marshall enjoys fishing, camping, dancing, gardening and riding his bicycle. He cares for his wife Charlotte now.
They have four children: Janice Jones of Richland, Jay Jones of Cody, Wyo., and twins Mark Jones and Maryann Jones (Hitchman) of Seattle.
They have two grandchildren.
