Carolyn and John Bettinson

Carolyn and John Bettinson of Kennewick celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Aug. 12, 2015.

They were married Aug. 12, 1955, in Prosser. They are lifelong residents of the Mid-Columbia.

Early in Carolyn’s career, she worked as a beautician and then later owned and operated a women’s clothing store, Panache. She most recently owned and operated Cookies By Design. She retired in February 2015.

Early in John’s career, he worked at Hanford for General Electric as a radiation monitor. In 1966, he opened the Coin Cradle, which he operated until 1994, when he sold it to Best Bett Cards and Comics. In 2007, John closed Best Bett Cards and Comics, and continued to work with Carolyn at Cookies By Design until his retirement in February 2015.

They have three children, Steve and Monique Bettinson of Kennewick, Ken and Sue Bettinson of Boise, and Mike and Rene Bettinson of Spokane.

They have eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
