Sally and Joseph Costanzo of Pasco celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Dec. 19 with a party at the Old Country Buffet in Kennewick.
Sally moved from Clarkston to Kennewick, graduating from Kennewick High School in 1955. Joe along with his mother moved from Italy, to the Mid-Columbia in 1949 to join his father and two brothers who were already working on the railroad.
They were married Dec. 19, 1955, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Pasco. Father William Schmitz officiated.
Sally was a homemaker until their youngest son went to school. She then went to work for Kelly’s and Columbia Basin Answering Services. She retired in 1993 from Columbia Basin Answering Service. She is a member of the Railroad Auxiliary and bowled on many different leagues. She has volunteered with cooking and helping out at the Pasco Gospel Mission and in Kennewick at the American Cancer Society. She enjoyed playing bingo.
Joe worked for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, retiring after 45 years. For a couple years on his days off from the railroad, he worked for Gene Tomich Tires. He enjoyed league bowling and out-of-town tournaments.
They have been members of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church for many years where Joe is an usher and Sally a member and past president of the Altar Society. She has sung in the church choir for many years.
They have seven children, Janice Costanzo-Billings of Kennewick; Joyce Costanzo-Kelley of the Spokane Valley; MaryJo Ward of Pasco; Michael Costanzo of Pasco; Angela Costanzo-Carpenter of Pasco; Rosie Costanzo-Covington of Pasco and Joey Costanzo of Kennewick.
They have 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
