In Service for Sept. 27

▪ Air Force Airman Travis R. Dean graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in Texas.

Travis is the son of Joanna and Robert Dean of Richland.

He graduated in 2014 from Richland High School.

▪ Air Force Airman Ivana M. Baltazar graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in Texas.

Baltazar is the daughter of Tiffany Thomas of Mesa, Ariz., and Daniel Baltazar of Hermiston.

She graduated in 2013 from Westwood High School in Mesa, Ariz.

▪ John J. Hylden, a student at Gonzaga University and Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps cadet, participated in Cadet Language and Cultural Immersion Training. After a weeklong training session at Fort Knox, Ky., the selected cadets are deployed to partner nations where they are immersed in the local cultures and languages.

Hylden was part of a team that deployed to Thailand to participate in a humanitarian mission building dams and concrete foundations, and teaching English to children in elementary and high schools.

He is a 2013 graduate of Tri-Cities Prep, Pasco.
