Sandra and Norval McMillin

Norval and Sandra (Edmunds) McMillin of Kennewick celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 28 with a cruise to Alaska.

They met in middle school and attended college together. They were married Aug. 28, 1965, in Cody, Wyo., and moved from Fort Collins, Colo., to the Mid-Columbia in 1976.

Sandra was a substitute teacher for the Kennewick School District and realtor for Century 21 before retiring.

Norval worked for the information technology contractor to the U.S. Department of Energy Richland office (U.S. DOE-RL) and for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in Pasco before retiring in July 2014.

Sandra is a member of the Tri-City Digital Camera Club. Norval has sung in productions of Messiah and with the Tri-Cities Columbia Chorale. They attend South Hills Church in Kennewick and enjoy traveling.

They have one daughter, Whitney McMillin of Kennewick.
