Carolyn and David Watson

Carolyn and David Watson, of Kennewick, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 12 in Richland.

They were married on June 10, 1967 in Spokane. They moved to the Mid-Columbia after David was discharged from the U.S. Army in 1975.

Carolyn was a long-time Avon salesperson in Richland and then went to work for the Richland School District in food services at River’s Edge High School. She retired from the Richland School District.

After discharge from the Army, Dave went to work for Richland Flying Service and then at N-Reactor, as a control room operator. During the last several years of work at Hanford, he worked in training. He retired from the Hanford area in 2001. After retirement, he renewed his love of flying and became a flying instructor and worked for an area farmer as on on-call pilot.

They are members of the Meadow Springs Presbyterian Church in Richland, and volunteer for Kennewick Sons of Norway Sol-Land Lodge. Dave referees Mid-Columbia high school and middle school football.

They have one son, D.J. and wife Sara Watson of Richland.

They have three grandsons.
