Two hurt in wreck west of Benton City

Two people were hurt Wednesday morning in a wreck on Interstate 82 about nine miles west of Benton City.

Tami G. Selmyhr, 55, of Kennewick, and Robert L. Greeno, 70, of Pasco, both were taken to area hospitals, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Selmyhr was driving a 1989 Ford pickup truck west on the highway at 7:48 a.m. when she struck the back of Greeno’s westbound Ford Expedition, the state patrol said.

She was taken by a private party to an unknown hospital, troopers said.

Greeno was taken to PMC Medical Center in Prosser, troopers said. Information on his condition wasn’t available.

The wreck was caused by following too close and inattention, the state patrol said. Troopers are recommended Selmyhr be charged with second-degree negligent driving.
