Ayers tapped to lead local United Way
A longtime local United Way leader has been tapped to take over for Beverly Weber, the retiring president and CEO.
LoAnn Ayers starts in the position on July 1.
“I am honored to be given the opportunity to lead such a trusted organization. I am committed to continuing to get the most out of every dollar entrusted to United Way of Benton & Franklin Counties by generous Tri-Citians and working together to improve lives across our community,” she said in a statement.
United Way board member Marie Mosley, who led the process to find Weber’s replacement, said, “The search committee strongly believes that LoAnn has the skills and vision to lead the organization to the next level.”
Ayers currently is chief engagement officer. She previously served on the board of directors for seven years, including acting as chairwoman in 2011 and 2012.
In 2013, she was named United Way’s Distinguished Volunteer of the Year.
Ayers holds a master’s degree in business administration.
Weber, who joined the local United Way in 2003, announced her plans to retire early this year. She’ll step down in July.
