Use your Regal gift cards now. Columbia Center theater closes Sunday
Regal Cinemas will shutter its eight-screen Columbia Center theater Sunday evening after the final movie wraps sometime after 10 p.m.
That means it’s now or never to use those gift cards if you don’t want to travel out of town.
The Regal complex will be demolished and a new 49,000-square-foot retail space will be built on roughly the same footprint, according to environmental documents filed for the project.
The new building will accommodate an undisclosed new retailer. Regal opened at the mall in 1998 as an Act III-branded cinema.
