Accepting patients | New doctors, others join Tri-Cities area medical practices
Three new medical professionals have started practicing in the Tri-Cities region.
Here are the newest additions to the Mid-Columbia’s growing medical community.
New cardiologist
Dr. Jesus Mendiolaza has joined Lourdes Health in Pasco as a locum cardiologist.
He has been an attending cardiologist since 2007, following the completion of his residency and fellowship programs, said a Lourdes news release.
He specializes in all noninvasive cardiovascular procedures, cardiac consultations, cardiovascular clinical management and prevention, said the release.
His experience also includes cardiovascular imaging modalities, including 3D Echo, carotids Doppler, CTA coronaries, coronary calcium scoring and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.
Mendiolaza earned his medical degree from Federico Villarreal University, School of Medicine in Peru, and his internal medicine internship was with Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. His internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship program was at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Medical School.
He speaks English and Spanish and is also fluent in French, Italian and Portuguese.

Spine and pain care
Cindy Guede, advanced practice registered nurse, has joined Trios Medical Group in the Trios Spine and Interventional Pain Clinic in Kennewick.
She is an experienced, board-certified APRN who has treated patients for imbalance, dizziness and vertigo, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), stroke, neurological and ear disorders, head impulse testing, eye recordings and neurologic, stroke, and vestibular exams, said a Trios news release.
She is joining the clinic with Neurosurgeon Matthew Fewel and Interventional Pain Specialist Dr. Michael Kolczynski.
Her bachelor’s degree in nursing is from Ball State University and her master’s is in nursing-adult gerontology clinical nurse specialist at Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing in 2017.
She worked as a Registered Nurse in the Medical Intensive Care Unit and Interventional Radiology, and Neurovestibular Nurse Specialist/Registered Nurse/Neuro-ophthalmology and Neuro-vestibular clinics, all at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill., as well as a Neurology Advanced Registered Nurse at OSF HealthCare Illinois Neurological Institute in Peoria.
She sees patients at the Trios Spine and Interventional Pain Clinic, on the sixth floor of the Trios Care Center in Kennewick. Appointments: 509-221-6650.
Prosser family practice doctor
Dr. Jayme Thompson has joined Prosser Memorial Health at the Prosser Clinic.
Thompson is a Yakima Valley native and has previously worked as a family medicine physician in Wapato.
She received her bachelor’s in medical biology from Heritage University before receiving her doctor of osteopathic medicine from Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences.
She also completed an internship and residency focused on family medicine with Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic’s Sollus NW Family Medicine.
Her services will cover care for patients of all ages, from newborn to geriatric.
Thompson is currently taking new patients at the PMH Prosser Clinic.
