Oliver Tree's Girlfriend Fiona Breaks Silence After Singer's Death

Oliver Tree's girlfriend, Fiona Chernavskaya, has broken her silence on the singer's death at age 32.

Chernavskaya began her tribute on Wednesday, June 17, by sharing several photos and videos of herself with Tree via her Instagram Stories. She then shared an image of her late boyfriend wearing a tuxedo at what appears to be a wedding.

"Thank you for all the kind words," she wrote over the snap. "I appreciate every ounce of support at this time. There are so many who have been affected by his passing, please show them love too."

Chernavskaya then shut down any online speculation about their relationship.

"And please have some respect for my privacy, we kept our relationship very intimate," she continued. "What I really don't need is to see gossip about other women that Oliver may have been seeing, we were monogamous. Right now I'm mourning my partner and best friend, anything else is unimportant. Please have some respect."

Before her Instagram Stories tribute, Chernavskaya shared an open letter to Tree via her feed on Tuesday, June 16.

"To my best friend, we traveled to 43 countries, and all 7 continents together," she wrote. "The magic, inspiration and joy you brought to my life and others, will never be forgotten or replaced. You'd always tell me when we argued, if things don't work out in this lifetime, you will find me in the next. I love you buggy."

The comments were filled with fans questioning the number of girlfriends Tree had amid tributes from other women, including his ex Melanie Martinez, who wrote on Sunday, June 14, that she's "been an absolute wreck" since his death.

Two helicopters collided in Brazil on Sunday, resulting in six fatalities, reportedly including Tree. The musician had been traveling on his world tour and most recently performed in São Paulo on June 6. He was next scheduled for a show in Lisbon, Portugal, on July 1.

The crash occurred just before 9 a.m. local time, Rio de Janeiro's Military Fire Department said, according to NBC News. While Tree's name was on the list of passengers given to aviation authorities, police stated that they have yet to identify the bodies.

After the mid-air collision, one helicopter fell onto a car dealership parking lot, causing a fire involving 15 cars, authorities revealed. The blaze was later extinguished.

The identities of the victims have not yet been officially released. Argentine streaming channel Blender reported that content creator Gaspar Prim Díaz - a.k.a. Gaspi - was believed to be in one of the helicopters.

"We express our deep sorrow for the six victims resulting from the accident involving two aircraft in the Southwest Zone of Rio de Janeiro," the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro wrote via X. "In this moment of pain, I express my solidarity to the family members and friends of the victims of the tragedy."

An investigation into the crash is underway. The six victims "will undergo forensic examination for identification," according to a spokesperson for Rio de Janeiro's State Civil Police Press Office.
