What to Know About the Caitlin Clark and Stephanie White Drama on Indiana Fever

Now in her third WNBA season, Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark is beginning to face some criticism she did not encounter through her first two years.

With the Fever just 4-4 through eight games and coming off a brutal loss to the expansion Portland Fire, fans and media have sensed that internal tensions in Indiana may be boiling over.

During Indiana's loss to Portland on Saturday, May 30, cameras caught Clark, 24, appearing to have a heated exchange with head coach Stephanie White. That came less than two weeks after Clark seemed to have an animated discussion with assistant coach Briann January during a game.

Contrary to reports, it does not seem like White needs to worry about her job security. Former ESPN and Fox Sports personality Skip Bayless added some temporary speculation after sharing a report from a fake account via X saying that White would be fired.

"No surprise: Stephanie White reportedly out after repeated in-game clashes with Caitlin Clark," he wrote over the false report. "Not saying White was wrong – but YOU CAN'T SHOW UP THE FACE OF THE LEAGUE ON CAMERA."

After multiple WNBA reporters pointed out the report was entirely fabricated, Bayless doubled down on his point, writing, "[White] won't last much longer clashing during games with CAITLIN CLARK … even if her issues with Caitlin are mostly valid."
