Sleeping with Other People will make you wish you were sleeping at a different movie
They loved it at Sundance, but don’t be fooled. Sleeping with Other People is pure formula. Two early thirtysomethings are floundering through relationships. At one point in their youth, they connected, had a fling and then disappeared from each other’s lives. A reconnection establishes a friendship that each uses to help the other through bad relationships.
Predictably, it turns to love.
That can’t be much of a surprise because the characters played by Jason Sudeikis and Alison Brie and their co-stars are predictable as well. From each of their smart, hip and flip besties to the cliche romances they find themselves in, this — wrapped in well-done but predictable dialogue — is awful with a capital A.
